Summary

Universal Access to the Internet as well as the rapid growth of new media affect the market of the press, radio and television both on the global and local scale. It is on the micro scale that all opportunities and threats can be seen the most clearly. On the one hand, there is a growing number of websites that deal with local issues. With the contemporary crisis of the print media, it is them that become the first source of information about events in the region. On the other, however, a considerable part of those websites represent a low editorial and journalistic level, functioning as a propaganda tube of the publisher. In the Gorzów subregion, where the traditional press, radio and television are not well developed, the future seem to belong to the new media.
