Summary

This paper presents current problems related to the functioning of the network of Public libraries by the example of Kielce and Kielce Province. These problems con-centrate mostly on financial and organisational difficulties which are characteristic not only of the public library network. This situation has a negative effect on the func-tioning of libraries.
