Summary

This article presents the history of one of the largest newspapers of interwar Poland. The author concentrated his attention on the ideological evolution of the newspaper. He sought relations between the content of the "Rzeczpospolita" and ideological preferences of its successive publishers.
After taking the daily by the Catholic circles, which occurred in 1924, the newspaper quickly lost its importance. The causes of the fall of the "Rzeczpospolita" in the authors opinion should be found in the discrepancy between the preferences of its last publishers and the expectations of the readers.
