Many public mass schools have the so-called integrational classes which are attended by students with different kinds of disability (intellectual, sensory, physical) and by their healthy peers. One of the tasks of the school, apart from the possibility of the comprehensive development of all students is also the creation of such educational situations which will favour the construction of mutual respect, acceptance of "otherness", stimulation of creative attitudes. A students' periodical can be an essential tool in helping the realisation of these difficult tasks.
The aim of the article is to draw attention to the role of the school periodical, edited, published and distributed by students, in the integration of the school community. Values, which are carried by the common publishing initiatives of disabled and healthy children are very important. It is necessary to point several of these values: stimulating creative activity, mutual better acquaintance of students; creation of the discussion forum; development of school public opinion, self-presentation; and finally, learning responsibility for the activity of the whole group.
