Summary

A journalistic article as genological form has not been fully defned as a genre. Specialized litera-ture on the subject does not provide its full characteristics. Although researchers recognize this press form, include it the genre classifcation and enumerate its types, they do not defne a journalistic article itself. The subject of the analyses is a journalistic article understood as an autonomous genre of journal-ism in a written form which appears in two variants: in the print and online. The aim of this study is to compare the afore-mentioned varieties. The work also focuses on the relation between the features of a journalistic article in print and its online variant. The author endeavors to answer the question to what extent the transition of the journalistic article to the Internet has modifed its canonical model.
