|EDUCATION IN THE "BLUSZCZ" PERIODICAL IN THE YEARS 1918-1939

The article presents the content of one of the major ideological and thematic fea-tures of the popular Warsaw women's weekly "Bluszcz": the problems of education and upbringing, which were key issues at that time due to the national and social deterrminants. The Author presents the evolution of the process of upbringing from the national rebirth to citizen's attitudes; the aims and methods of patriotic formation in reborn Poland in the changing socio-political conditions, and highlights the role of women-mothers, scouting and social organizations in this process; ways of developing scholarly interests among young people; the modern world trends in social and biological sciences used in the process of upbringing, represented, among others, by Józefa Joteyko, Jan Korczak, Bogdan Suchodolski, Carl Gustav Jung, Sigmund Freud, Alfred Adler, John Broadus Watson, Charlotta Buhler; school reforms in Poland in 1925 by Stanislaw Grabski, and in 1932 Janusz Jędrzejewicz, and the modern methods of schooling in other countries; struggle against illiteracy.
