Summary

Opoczno was situated at the extremity Province of Kielce in the past and had been never made significant centre of books culture. However in the end of XIX century there started form small private printing houses (owners: Adamczykowa, Praszker, Zalcman and Edelist, Figura) that was based on first job-printing but had been printing magazines and different occasional type too. Especially valuable for reconstruction social-culture history of town are magazines - ephemerides that was printed there from 1917 year. Their number, similarly as number of bookshops and libraries certifies about Opoczno intelectuals energy and their aspiration to make cultural centre in this town
