Summary

This paper contains a historical outline of the concept of journalist profession and discusses the dictionary evolution of this term. Against this background is shown the development of the Kielce press, particularly after 1944. It points to the need of starting investigation of the group of journalists of Kielce after World War II. Research questions are formulated and references are made to the historians of the press who take up the subject of the history of Kielce regional press.
