Summary

This article presents a gloss to the analysis of the literary and critical output of the professors of the Seminary in Kielce in respect of socio-political and religious and moral transformations in Poland in the years 1727-1939. This milieu had a vivid publishing :ivity. However, economic conditions and the political situation in the Russian sector partitioned Poland affected this activity. A full development of publishing activity was begun in the interwar period. Although scholarly works were not numerous, publicistic writings prevailed. They mostly concerned practical issues, e.g. preaching, catechetic discourse or pastoral theology. The development of practical disciplines and numerous publications in this area were the response of the local milieu to the ongoing socio-political and religious and moral transformations in Poland.
