Numer | 11 |
The article presents the activity of the magazine "Polska" [Poland], which was published in Kuybishew, USSR, from December 1941 to April 1943 by the then Polish Embassy in the USSR. During a few dozen months the editorial board of this periodical tried to reach hundreds of thousands of Polish forced exiles deep inside the USSR. The magazine provided information to its readers. It delivered practical advice which was to improve their fate. Different literary compositions, old and present, were published. Thanks to its educational supplements it substituted school education for children who were deprived of Polish school after the transportation to the USSR. The magazine also tried to assure the constant the link between Poles exiled to the USSR and countrymen in other countries of the world. Break of diplomatic relations by the Soviet authorities with the Polish Government in London terminated the activities of this useful periodical.
